Teetering On The Edge

    Caught! Please Donate

    Artist's Insight

No matter who we are, no matter how big or strong we might externally appear, many of us experience a moment when we feel we might "fall".

Each ball is so finely balanced that the slightest negative input will cause it to fall

In order to save ourselves we need the support of others.

The bedrock is Claystone, collected from Grid Reference 50.456257,-4.164101 (https://w3w.co/theme.goods.deeply), an incredibly peaceful and beautiful place where only the sound of birds, water and the wind can be heard.  A 'place' where our minds should visit at times of hurt.  Deposited between 200 and 250 million years ago in the Triassic period, the stone is a deliberate comparison to our momentary existence which we all need to optimise.

Just because we might feel we are teetering on the edge, it is not a given that we will fall. Dedicated to The Samaritans who have 'caught' me in the past.
